Comedy

Comedy is one of the most important aspects of the modern world.  One great movie performing that comedy is The Other Guys starring Mark Walburg and Will Ferril.  In this film, two background cops, or "other guys", must solve a case concerning a multi millionair and a construction permit.  Without the support form the rest of the officers, the idiotic once pimp Will Ferril and wanna be bad ass Mark Walburg must solve the case on their own.
This movie, in m opinion, is one of the funniest movies that I own.  Its the type of good stupid humor that you don't have to think about.  The acting at some parts could be better, but the story line was terrific.  I would not reccoment this to someone under 13 for the fact of many innapropriate jokes and sexual themes.  There is also bad language.  Parents, just look at the rating, seriously.

Superheros

On this date in history I, Mr. Awesome, had the privilege of seeing Marvel's The Avengers, starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, and Chris Hemsworth.  This movie, as many of you are aware, is about Nick Furry (Samuel Jackson) forms a team of superheros from multiple Marvel movies to stop the evil force of Loki and his army from world destruction.  First of all, I don't see how Thor could have not seen that Loki was bad, if you look in a children's book of those types of gods it just flat our says "Loki, god of mischief". Really?! But whatever.
This movie had almost every aspect of a movie someone could want, action, humor, and there is even one romantic scene for the ladies. I had heard that this was one of the best movies you will ever see, I didn't believe anyone because that's what I heard about Transformers 2 and that movie was pretty bad. May I just say, I should have listened to them. The Avengers was one of the best movies I have scene in the theaters. I strongly recommend spending the 10 bucks to see this movie. There are many violent scenes throughout and depending on things, the theater can get pretty damn loud, especially when the hulk jumps out and screams. The movie is PG-13 for a reason people. Enjoy.

Intensity (Book Adaptation Follow-up)
*WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS TO THE MOVIE
On Saturday, March 24th, I saw The Hunger Games movie starring Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson. The movie script was co-written by Suzanne Collins, the author of the Hunger Games series. This movie was by far one of the most intense movies I have ever seen. I was literally on the edge of my seat when Katniss was released into the arena right up until the end. There was constantly something going on, and there was never a part of the movie where I was bored or wanted to fall asleep.
There were some things, however, that were not true to the book.  For one thing, Peeta didn't loose his leg.  The avox girl was in the movie, but nothing was ever mentioned about her. There was very little reference to Fox Face as well. Other then those minor things though, for the most part, the movie was true to the book.
This movie is easily one of my favorites, I am even tempted to go see it again! I would not recommend this movie to anyone under 13 though. There are multiple scenes of violence and murder all involving teenagers. The movie is PG-13 for a reason though people.

Late 90's, Early 00's
In 1999, The Matrix, starring Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne was released. This mind-bending movie is about a man who searches for answers, and doesn't like the once he finds, leading him to the horrible truth about life.
I believe this movie's plot was very well done. It kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat. There were constant shockers in this movie that kept my eyes glued to the screen. Now, not so much as in the first one, but in The Matrix:  Reloaded, which is the squeal released in early 2003, there were prolonged sequences of action. Usually, these scenes are cool, but some of them just go on forever, and you feel like they could never end. I believe that if they cut some of the action parts down, they could focus more on the plot of the story.
\   Don't get me wrong though, these movies are pretty awesome. I would not recommend it for anyone under 14 though. It is a fast paced action movie, perfect for a boring Saturday night.

Book Adaptations-Coming Soon
There are multiple highly anticipated movies that will be hitting the theaters this year. The Hunger Games is the soonest to hit theaters on March 23rd. This movie is based of of the nation wide phenomenon book series by Suzanne Collins.  This movie adaption of the popular novel stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson as Katniss and Peeta.  Hopefully, this movie wont be like some other film adaptions of books where the movie ends up completely ruining the story.  I am very much looking forward to seeing this movie with my friends, as long as its not a fail.  You can find much web information on.......instead of listing 20 million sites, just do a web search for it!  I will do a follow up post to this blog once I view the film.

The 90's
In 1991, a remake of the 1950 Father of the Bride was released with the same title.  This remake stared the hilarious Steve Martin and Diane Keaton.  This is a comedy about a rather "cheap" father who has to spend money ($250 a person) on a wedding for his loving daughter, who recently returned from a long trip.  This movie's plot line is very well organized, and boredom is never a problem with all of the wise cracking jokes.  If you are looking for a fun, family (if your kids are probably over 10) comedy on a Saturday night, this is a movie to rent.  It is also on TV, a lot.  It is somewhat of a chick flick, but its good for all genders! The sequel, Father of the Bride Part II, isn't AS good, but it is still an entertaining film.
